‘Santa is a Cat’ is filled with bright colours and adorable critters. I worked hard to make the animals fur fluffy and soft looking throughout the pages. I used high saturation to make the ornaments and characters pop.
For ‘The Ant and the Magician’, I used a softer colour pallet and was thoughtful on certain colors when used in high saturation. I wanted to add to the stories whimsy and dream like tones. For the pages I tried to make the background and creatures more like watercolour.

Working on this series of stories allowed me to focus on shaded cartoon characters. The stories are filled with delight and the cute adventures of a stink bug and snail. Much of the backgrounds and plant life are done in a more painted style.
